My name is Alisha Cassandra Murchison and I'm a fashion designer in Los Angeles, California. Most of my designs are evening wear or wedding gowns but I also do casual. At this moment I'm getting ready to open up my first store in Santa Monica, in June 2007. I like to keep my designs completely unique and sexy. My designs are already sold at Barney's New York and Scoop. My idea is to mix the sophistication of Los Angeles with the sensual of Germany. A few of the techniques I work with include crochet, nozinho (knots), fuxico (flower stitching) and embroidery work. I've worked with actresses and models such as Britney Spears, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, etc. My clothes are pretty much three dimensions, but my challenge is to make the person wearing them feel good. My hand-made evening gowns have been shown at New York's Fashion Week for 2 years and are sold in high-end English stores such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods. I feel fashion has to be integrated into life. I don't like labels like designers. I don't see boundaries, but I know that people like power. The fashion world is very exclusive. They want to keep this power hierarchy.
