I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a big word geek, i.e., the correct, specific, informed, and beautiful use of words is one of my biggest turn-ons, but I'll try to get over it if you don't care about speaking well. I spend a lot of time and energy discovering, savouring, and sharing the most amazing music available, and always appreciate good recommendations. These days I largely live for the adrenaline rush of racing cars in traffic on a bicycle. Wrenching on, learning about, and riding bikes, and helping others enjoy bikes has become one of my biggest passions. I enjoy cooking for two, climbing things, and maybe most importantly, learning about people's beliefs, habits, and histories. I have a short attention span for people incapable of meaningful conversation. For the honest, the witty, the loving, the affectionate, the resourceful, the hilarious, for these I am forever loyal.
I love the following smells dearly: the air after a long rain, sawdust, a baseball glove, bails of hay, lingering skunk spray on the highway, hogs, Iowa cornfields in August, sun tea, engine grease, bonfires, and good ole fashioned untainted pheromones chock full of love.
I think of philosophy as "a conversation, aimed at truth, guided by reason." I want to be around people who will encourage me to have a free-spirited good time while at the same time reading, writing, creating, and loving better and more frequently.
Now you [think you] know.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who aren't afraid to open up my colouring books and go to town with some crayons or dance with me in my living room. Introduce me to new music and ideas please! Stimulate me! Beware shiny objects in my peripheral vision that will fight for my attention!

PLEASE-I love meeting new people, but please send me a message first and explain why you care to exchange words. I haven't had the interweb at home in a year, so forgive me if I've forsaken the former habit of using it to constantly connect with people.

My Blog

A most righteous weekend, dude.

So I feel rather lame documenting my birthday weekend in blog form, as I don't usually take to wringing out my daily routines on the myspace world, but this one was truly worth sharing and remembering...

My idea of heaven:

My idea of heaven: I enjoy the fixing of a flat tire. I like art made of garbage. A little pain is good for you. I don't want everything to be made easy for me. Fast ain't always better than slow...

Re: accessing Green Light District

Don't feel left out. Part 2 is just under construction right now, so nobody is on the "preferred list." But when it's done, you'll want to be on it, so leave worthy comments on my current profile pic ...

Photo story: The Green Light District Part 1

I did a little role reversal last week with my friend Ashley, who's modeled for me before. She had a new camera and didn't feel like getting in front of the camera. So I directed a shoot from the mode...

Parable of the Birds by Robert B Shaw

Keystone pics

These are all the way back from my first week in Colorado, when I met Sarah up at Keystone. Photoshopping takes time, kids. Forgive me.

Banana faces!

By now you all know that while I was house and dog-sitting in Virginia, I got bored sometimes and would set up my camera on the tripod and take silly pictures. These should testify even further to the...

Moving to Denver in August

Well, some of you already know this, but I thought I'd make it more public in case anyone wants to hang out with me while I'm still in Iowa. After 22 years in Iowa, I'm long overdue for a bigger, m...
