In Autumn of 2005 Saby (ex-Guitar), Brenner (Vocals) and Philipp (Vocals) decided to play together as a "Band".
Saby wrote the songs and developed the first drumlines with the keyboard, because at this time they found no drummer.
In December Andy (Bass) and Michl (ex-Drums) entered the Combo. After the first concert, they realized the importance of a second guitar player to form the songwriting more complex and in two voices.
Matthias (Guitar) showed interest and quality at once.
Until this date the complete combo actually didn´t found a suitable name. After few discussions they arranged to "Katharsis".
This term has its roots in Aristoteles eponymous theory, but it´s also found in psychology, where it describes "the purgation of the body and the soul through aggressive actions".
In September of 2006 michl (ex-Drums) was replaced by Steffen (Drums)
In October Saby (ex-Guitar) left the band, he was replaced by the new guitar player Tom.
They play modern Metal with in-your-face guitar riffs, which are underlined by powerful basslines and aggressive drum parts.
Brenner´s growling is very different to Philipp´s aggressive screaming and shouting.
