About Me


Tanja Pazou was born and raised in Germany. Born into an artistic family, into a lineage of musicians, performers, poets and acrobats...related to Django Reinhardt and Schnuckenack among others. She chose to dance at a young age and choreographed dance as early as age 11. Tanja began with Ballet and trained with people in the arts until she was 21. Her dance teachers were from all over the world, including instructors from Russia, New York, and Stuttgart-Germany to name a few.
As a teenager, Tanja choreographed and taught her first dance company and toured in Germany at local events and national competitions. By the age of 16, she taught next to her school curriculum jazz dance in three different schools and her own academic school.
After completing an education in business and finances Tanja decided to venture into the arts full time and attended a professional dance school in Germany. She studied for 4 years with educators such as Jessica Iwanson (Sweden/Germany), Gudrun Sutherland (Stuttgart Ballet), Regine Blum and Karren Foster (Germany), Jenny Coogan (New York), Susan Quinn (New York), Colin Charles ("Cats" London), Nicky Bentley (Pineapple-London), Michelle Taylor (Pineapple-London), Mina Yoo, Mark Davis and many more.
Tanja was educated in the full spectrum of dance disciplines such as Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Tap, and commercial dance forms such as Street Dance and Hip Hop. Besides the performing arts, she studied music at the Peoples Music School in Chicago and Anatomy and Physiology in Germany. During her education in the performing arts, Tanja Pazou taught hundreds of students dance in different cities in Germany, workshops in Italy and she choreographed for major companies such as Reebok, Adidas, Cazal Eyeglasses, and BMW.
After her dance education in Germany, Tanja Pazou created fashion shows for corporate German fashion chains such as Woehrl, Champion Sportswear, Carnaby's, and many more. She worked with European designers and choreographed and directed runway shows for select European buyers. Tanja worked with German film studios such as the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich on different presentations. She created and choreographed for parties for corporate clients such as Proctor & Gamble, Hummel, BMW and L'Oreal Hair products.
Tanja Pazou worked as an artistic director at the European Basketball Championships in Munich Germany to create the opening ceremony for this event at the Olympiahalle for an audience of 15,000 people which was aired in 15 countries. She also created, directed and choreographed a Club Tour in Germany with a cast of over 25 performers sponsored by the Reemtsma corporation.
She has worked with sponsors such as 89 HIT FM-German radio station, RTL Germany (Leo Kirch group), Adidas-Salomon AG, VERTIGO Soundbar-Munich Germany, BMW Museum Munich-Germany, Allstate, MidAmerica Bank, and many others.
Tanja spent in her career as a dancer, choreographer, instructor and artistic director most of her life in Europe and a period of 10 years in the United States. Half of that stay was in Los Angeles, California and the other half in Chicago, Illinois. In those years Tanja has had the chance to meet and work with artists such as: George Clinton, Paula Abdul, Destiny's Child, 2 PAC, Snoop Dog, Hammer, Galliano, David Hasselhoff, and many more.
Tanja has taught at over 15 dance studios in Los Angeles and over 10 dance studios in Chicago, and numerous studios in Europe. Tanja has inspired many students, and hundreds of students became teachers and followed into Tanja's footsteps to choreograph, dance and direct.
Tanja Pazou has many references from students, schools, artists, corporations, and institutions such as the major of Los Angeles Mr. Richard Riordan, Friends of Distinction, ABC Newscaster Mrs. Sylvia Perez, and many more.
Tanja Pazou was featured in the movie 'Chicago Boricua' as the dance teacher Mrs. Moralez and she choreographed all the dance scenes for this production that made it to the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, to the Latin Filmfestival in Chicago and to the shelf of every American Blockbuster store.
Tanja Pazou has worked as an artistic director with record companies such as SONY Dance Pool and BMG Music and also as a choreographer for their new talents. She has choreographed and directed dance shows for German television such as SAT 1, RTL, DSF and many more.
In Chicago, Tanja has developed childrens dance productions with a cast of over 90 performers, a 90-minute show program and sold out performances. She won dance competitions in London/England held by MTV television. She has worked as a model with wonderful photographers that are poets with the camera; artists such as Steve Harman, Shawn Alexander, Tony Scarlatti, Frank Campanello, Angelia High, Joachim Bischoff, Andreas Juchelka-Bass, Lamont Mc Lemore (5th Dimension), David Keeler (Esquire, Star).
Tanja Pazou hosted a show in LA called the CARNIVAL.
Next to her artistic career, Tanja Pazou has developed her own accessories business called Pazou Accessories. She is also the United States distributor for Möbus German shoes, a jewelry and bag line from Austria named INDIRA and her own clothing line, called simply PAZOU.
