It all began on the day of January 22, 1986. A baby was born at 12:00 a.m. and weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces. He was born at Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital and was given the name of Tory Detrez Collins. Tory was born as the son of Chico Baltimore and Rita Collins. He grew up in a loving household whose parents made sure that he was taught the rights and wrongs in life. While growing up in his early years, Tory was very curious when it came to music. He would sit around and listen to the oldies that his parents loved. By the time Tory was in the fifth grade he asked his mom if he could learn how to play an instrument. Not having lots of extra money his parents had to budget in order to satisfy their child. After a few weeks, Tory's mother surprised him with a visit to the music store. Tory couldn't make up his mind to what instrument he wanted to learn to play, but after elaborating with the owner of the store he decided to be a percussionist. Growing up, one of Tory's favorite artist was Sheila E. whom inspired him to play drums and to become a musical artist.
This is where the great music all started. Every morning before class started there was a freestyle battle. All of the students crowded around this exciting event daily in the school's breezeway. This is where Tory captured the ears of the whole school with his flamboyant beats. He then went on to also producing music for other young artist in his high school. Some of the artist were Kause and Effect, Gabriel Powwel, Decarpo, and Antwon Toson.
During Tory's high school years he builded the reputation of one of the best percussionist in the state of Georgia. He also became the section leader of the prestegious Dougherty High School drumline and led the to three first place trophies in state drumline competitions. He was selected for the all county band every year that he was in high school, and was also selected in the district band the only time he tried out. With the help of his high school band direction Darren Johnson and his G.P.A., Tory was almost able to attend any college in the country, but he chose to stay home with his family to attend Albany State University. Another reason for attending Albany State University was to help turn the music program around. While attending Albany State University, Tory was a member of Platinum Forte for three years which is the school's drumline. He was very liked in the community and attracted a lot of positive attention to the University's music program. Tory is one of many people who contributed to taking Albany State's music program from mediocre to above average. Leaving the music program was one of the most difficult things that Tory has ever done. He took a lot of consideration in his decision, but he moved on to continue producing music. Tory has been producing music since 2002 and he won't quit until he is incapable of doing so. He has produced many people from Shawn King, Pistol P, to Chevy P(formally known as Smoke from Field Mobb). Tory now has a production group and is currently working very hard to rise to the top of the music industry. Tory has also stated that in the future there may be a place for him as a solo artist, but as of now he wants to be a successful producer.I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
