OISIN is Bristol born and bred, and this is reflected in his passion for music and life in the city. His love of music is rooted deeply in his personal background as he comes from three generations of performers. From Irish parents, Oisin grew up in the inner city and became involved in the Bristol music scene through freestyle rap and pirate radio - while also working clubs and festivals. He was strongly influenced by urban music from hip hop, funk and soul to jungle and dance. He was initially inspired by his older brothers; Hollis, who was signed to Talkin' Loud during the 1990s with his group Marxman, and Phelim, one half of Bristol duo Day One who was signed to Melankolik by Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja. With a desire to step into the limelight himself, Oisin formed a band called Vasco, which was renowned for its live performances. During this period in his life Oisin's songwriting and musical style began to evolve. He found that his ability to connect with a crowd and share his music is what drives his uplifting and infectious stage presence.Feeling that he had more to explore and offer as a solo artist, Oisin began to pursue his own career in music. He started by singing and MCing for Bristol and UK based DJs such as DJ Die - part of the legendary Full Cycle Camp.Oceanic EPK

Now, not only is Oisin very much at the forefront of the Bristol music scene - his talents being nurtured by the city's biggest homegrown Drum n Bass artist Roni Size - but he is also an integral part of the Bristol social scene. He loves Bristol life and nightlife and this is very much reflected in his music. In fact it was a chance meeting with Roni at a house party one night that brought about this album. Roni heard Oisin singing in a back room and after talking, he invited Oisin to do some studio work. Since then they have worked on many collaborations and Roni further nurtured Oisin's talent by taking him on tour in the UK, Europe and the USA.Recently Oisin has devoted himself to studio work and developing his song writing, and Roni's faith in him has culminated in producing this raw, edgy, upbeat album. What is most reflected in the project, both musically and lyrically, is Oisin's enthusiastic energy and appreciation for all sorts of lifestyles, people and music. His attitude, image, experience, and outlook on life are all reflected in his music and this album will be appreciated by a broad spectrum of people.OISIN, STUDIO
