On June 18th 1984 in the city of Kingston, Jamaica $.I.N. was born. Fortunate enough to be provided with what many would consider to be a privileged up bringing S.I.N. always recognized the value and importance of money in society, hence the acronym S.I.N. which is his name, meaning Cash Is Necessary. This realization has impacted his life ever since and pushed his focus on putting his all in to everything he does.
When asked to describe his sound S.I.N. boasts, “I do what all these other rappers are trying to do but cant. I am the perfect balance between Reggae and Rap. The world has to love it.â€
Currently S.I.N. is working on his debut album Focus that features singles such as “In The Club†produced by Speed Racer M, “Godfatha Status†featuring Naptali, produced by Bravo and “Dis Uptown World†produced by Inztinkz.
$.I.N. has performed at the Tuesday Night Live Hip-hop Show hosted at the Village Café in Kingston, Jamaica and also performed along side Stagga in Gaborone, Botswana.
As an artist the relationship between $.I.N. and hip-hop started in 2002, when he wrote his first 16 bar verse as a favor for a friend who was perusing a rap career.
$.I.N. continued to play around with rhyming but never took it too seriously. His first recording was done on his on home computer which he mixed himself.
The first professional recording by $.I.N. was done in 2003 and produced by Skizo in Gaborone, Botswana. The track was done for radio mix show & club DJ’s Big Duke and DJ Moe’s mix CD which was released in Botswana.
During this period of time $.I.N. was doing work with local artist but most noteworthy connection was made with Stagga.
Upon returning to Jamaica in 2004 $.I.N. lost focus on music but regained his dedication to the art in 2006 with the release of his first mixtape $.I.N. City. This release was the reigniting of his flame and passion for the music industry.
$.I.N.’s influences range from Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Method Man, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan to Super Cat, Bounty Killer and other Dancehall and Reggae legends.
At heart $.I.N. is an artist and an entertainer. But by nature he is a strong minded, goal oriented individual who believes in a reemergence of quality over quantity within the music industry and believes he will have a significant part to play within the revolution.
