About Me

My profile was customized using the Taming the Beast.net MySpace Layout Generator
Son of Finnish born Eija Heimonen, local set design legend in Northern California after having run established architecture/Interior design business in London (r.i.p), and British born Andrew Golland, professional managing architect/formerly her managing partner, creative/humourous thinker/writer, both super, loving parents. Brother of Ami Golland (www.myspace.com/diamino), sound engineer and musician of technical precociousness and talent, and finally Poppy Golland, classical pianist trained not only by world renowned Peter Vincent Marlotti, but also strong actress and prolific visual artist, including set design. Our family ventured to the redwoods and various creative scenes of California. After having started at age four at Bushey School of Dance and Drama, I continued acting lessons in Santa Rosa, CA at age 10 with Raymond Skipp who happened to be fed up with London where he was from, and had studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. I steadily acted and performed/studied theatre and drumming until about age 22 when I moved back to the UK.Since I've been back to London I've acted with Finchley Youth Theatre and Chickenshed Theatre, who are briallint and never without the loud clarified message of inclusion. Without a doubt I grew the most under John Craven at Santa Rosa High School from 1998-2001 where I earned the Matt Farnsworth 4 year dedication award to ArtQuest Drama at the School. In my Juniour year I was given the male juniour award for drama by the same department. One of my favourite teachers and performers ever is Eliot Fintushel, who is a extensive physical and characterisational actor, to give the vast world of what he does a name. Some silly number of dedicated creative collaborators were made up West County and beyond, not least any to mention Tyler Green and the Lemurians (in mypace friends), a band including the frontman of Patient Zero punk band Jason Miller who also writes comedy partly for Eat the FishPat and Isaac and Eat the Fish (also myspace friends). Not least to mention the infamous and intricately trumpetic Peter Bonos, a like mind in tomfoolery, rhythmising, and of course composition. I owe so much of my creativities nourishment and support to everyone and all not mentioned, but I have to say mostly from the family. Creativity carries or attracts self-depracation in the current world, or at least it does in some way towards the West Coast, mefeels. But it's all worth the magic found out there. My greatest inspiration doesn't have a name, but if it has to be a band, that band was called Phish. A year of piano lessons at about 6, and I began focusing intently on playing drums and learning by ear by age 11. Since then a wide range of work acting, performing, recording and directing, even producing my own version of Dutchman by Le Roi Jones (aka Amira Baraka) where I had to stand in for Clay (lead in a 2 character play). But we had a blast, and Artist/Facilitator Maye Dickenson, who created the role of Lula with felt colours. That turned out to be an expensive production but went wonderfully, as someone was watching over... 'Fruity'.I am a learning support assistant for Southover Partnership, who specialise in Special Education Needs. Up and coming singer/songwriter Ula Thorpe has chosen me as a drummer and that is really exciting. We play Oxjam, the Oxfam fundraising event in Whetstone N London on 14th Oct. Leika (myspace.com/leikamusic & www.leika.co.uk), where I was drumming, resulted in creative differences that split us mutually. See the website for videos and examples of my drumming. I'm also really riveted that Jonas Marczy (also myspace friend) of Middlesex University, is so keen on the pieces I've offered for his film Mosaique. He is a disciplined filmmaker. Some of my name has been published in the United Press National Poetry Anthology for 2007. Read a music review at http://residents.com/bh/ALMISC.htm.
