About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Born and raised in Vienna/Austria, professional musician since the age of 17. Thomas started with piano , three years later continued with classical guitar. After about four years, the Blues, Hendrix, Deep Purple and the fun playing in bands won against Bach and Carcassi. After finishing school he totally fell in love with Jazz, studying at the Conservatory in Vienna, Bebop, Charlie Parker, Coltrane, Miles, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino...
A few years after this intense "jazz-only" trainings, Thomas re-discovered his roots, Blues, Soul and Rock Music and the more he grew musically, everything locked together. Today his style is kind of a fusion of his Jazz infuences and his personal way of hearing and playing, always with a strong foundation in the Blues. He is a Marshall-head and a Stratplayer and loves all kind of pedals and everything that smells like hot tubes...

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.thomaspalme.at
Influences: Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Grant Green, Karl Ratzer, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Santana, Frank Zappa, Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike Landau, Steve Lukather, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Jim Marshall and many more...and maybe most of all, Joni Mitchell
I like musicians with a distinctive and soulful sound, with a certain "vocal" quality, that comes from their heart. Sound is not only a matter of equipment (although I'm a gear-freak like nearly every guitarplayer in this world) but a matter of touch, heart and mind.
