Singapore Polytechnic Adventurers Club was founded in the academic year 1984/1985. Before SPA was formed, there was no clubs in SP that provided the student population an opportunity to be involve in adventurous outdoor activities such as kayaking, mountaineering, hiking, trekking etc. In 1993, the club was renamed Singapore Polytechnic Adventurers (SPA).
