Tom’s journey into electronic music started when he heard Prodigy’s ‘Voodoo People’ track. The song introduced new meaning to sound for Tom, it was original and raw. Tom got introduced to EDM parties in late 90’s where he attended his first rave called BoogieMan. This was the first time Tom saw a live DJ mix records and how they moved everyone on the dance floor. He began attending local parties on regular basis. He started helping local promoter setup sound for events and eventually met some of the local DJ’s who performed at the parties. It was not till early ’99 when Tom was in a car accident and made him realized life was to short and wanted to become a DJ. He purchased his turntables, mixer and 30 records from the settlement he got from his car wreck. It took two solid months of playing on his turntables every night to put out his first epic trance mix CD. He was offered his first gig in October of ’99 at a club night called Space put on by a friendly guy named Chris Le who was originally from Philly. Tom rocked his first set, he was the first Nrg/UK Hard House DJ in Boise and became a regular at the club where he eventually took over after Chris moved back East. Tom ran the club for nearly two years and got to play at local shows next to Tinrib, Max, Scott Stubs and DJ Jurgen producer of Alice Deejay. Also played over the internet radio station called WestSide Records Crew out of Portland OR and guest appearance at Temple of Sound in Portland OR. After the club night shot down Tom took a long break form parties and playing records.
After few years off Tom started playing records but it was new sound and feel for music. He found his love for breaks. Tom played few small shows here and there. But it was not till late ’07 that he wanted to get serious about it again. With his new sound of booty breaks and heavy bass he started playing at local club nights called Babylon. Tom got his big break on NYE when he was asked to fill in for a DJ and open for DJ Lifeguard out of Seattle. Tom had the crowed rocking through the whole night. The response was more then positive. In March Tom got to play in Bend OR and play with Sevematic out of Colorado and 30hz from Lot49. He released his new mix CD in February called Stentorian which means extremely laud because that’s how electronic music should be played! He is gearing up for his upcoming show with Dig Dug in May and also opening up for Sentient and Syd Gris at Esthetic Evolution 2008.
Thanks,
Tom
