Astro started entertaining at the age of 5 at the Australian expo 88 with his dad leader of the Indigenous Bulwai tribe from Kuranda. Coming from a family of accomplished musicians and performers Astro has become multitalented. He plays bass, rhythm and lead guitar as well as being an accomplished songwriter and vocalist. Astro’s music is influenced by a broad spectrum of genres ranging from Motown and Jazz to the Marley family, Tu Pac and other hip hop artists.
Astro has performed worldwide from New York to Africa, Guam and New Zealand. In 2003 Astro represented Australia’s Indigenous Youth at the Peoples Permanent forum held at the United Nations, New York. With television appearances and radio performance Astro has also left his mark in New Zealand with his unique hip hop talent.
‘Music and performance is my life’ says Astro, aged 23. ‘My goal is to become well-known worldwide for my performance and musical talent’. Astro’s all original songwriting and musical passion is now electronically driven to produce his new Hip Hop beats. Astro has been lucky to perform with many well known artists from the Angels, Boney Em, Ash Grunwald, John Butler Trio, Shane Howard and mix master Mike. Festivals including Woodford, the Kuranda Reggae Festival, Yungaburra Festival, Laura and others have all enjoyed to sounds of Astro and Ancient Instincts.
