About Me

Alt-pop artist Jameson Boyce spears the listener with his sharply written music, delivering a hammerblow of bright songwriting verve. Compulsively listenable and impossible to resist, Jameson Boyce’s solid songwriting is sure-fire, crowd-winning stuff. “If only one person likes my song, I’ve done my job,” says Boyce. Which means that Boyce’s work is accomplished many times over.
Heartbreak
Boyce digs deep into human experience to find inspiration for his music and heartbreak is a biggy for him. “Heartbreak is a major influence. That final moment of a relationship.” He also finds creative joy in music with meaning and depth. “Meaningful lyrics – not just typical crap about how good a girl looks – also impresses me. I want to hear about the emotional struggle that you have trying to obtain that girl.” Music, he believes, should paint a picture – and with Boyce, the picture is crystal clear.
The Artist at Work
Boyce earned a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Synthesis. He’s gearing up for some solo touring in Florida this year, to hopefully be followed up with heavy touring throughout the Southeast. “And I’m always in the process of writing new songs.” He’s focused on his favored relationship concepts, exploring the various angles of the relationship dynamic. “The theme right now is viewing a relationship from both sides, from the friends and from the relationship itself.” Boyce also reveals he’s got a number of songs from which to pick the track list for a new CD. He is currently working with A&R Select, the leading A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
Overcoming
A final piece of evidence for Boyce’s incredible talent … Boyce is an overcomer. He doesn’t believe in giving up and has defeated considerable odds to get where he is. “I was diagnosed with Marfan’s Syndrome at the age of 18 and was told I would never be able to play again.” So much for the doctors.
