Ripoff

About Me

Founded in 1997 as a "fuck you" to all well-playing musicians out there, by three young men eager to take on the world of punk rock. More or less active for two years, which resulted in two albums: "Killerpig" in '97, which was recorded in a bomb shelter on the norwegian countryside and sounded thereafter, and "Nevertheless" in '99, a 15 track full length album with a total play time of aprox 35 minutes. Unfortunately the band was never able to perform well live, and in 2000 Sveinung and Halvor switched from punk rock to folk rock with GÃ…TE, while Sander carried on with other projects, like Deflower, Askil Holm and now The South. Ripoff continued to exist in the members' concience though, and summer 2004 Halvor and Sander got together and recorded "The Touch of my hand", as well as three other ripoff classics. Ripoff will probably never reunion, but who are we to predict the future... NOTE 2007-04-03: No Ripoff is not dead. But the songs are shorter.
