Jay Wilcox

Jay Wilcox is a 22 year old singer/songwriter originally from South East London but currently studying Law in Bristol. Jay began playing the keyboard at an early age but actually gave up playing whilst he completed his secondary education. At the age of 18 whilst on his gap year Jay began playing again, took up singing and began songwriting and taking vocal lessons. His first major performances were at the Vocal Zones Talent Quest showcases which took place all over London. Before long Jay began to catch the attention of other artists producers and successful industry personell. Jay then left London to study in Bristol and over the last couple of years Jay has unsurprisingly built up a healthy reputation for him self as a live musician and performer playing in venues all over Bristol and the South West. In the last two years he has performed in venues alongside a host of the UK's top artists such as Keisha White, Terri Walker,Natalie Williams,Sway,Roni Size,Damage,Ace and Invisible,The Heartless Crew,The Dream Team,Trevor Nelson,DJ Diggz,DJ C-Sar and Pete Benard he has also played alongside some U.S acts such as Ryan Leslie, Slum Village,Dwele and Jill Scot to name a few! Jay posesses incredible creative abilities and is constantly in demand for his talents not just as a vocalist/musician but also as a writer, composer and aspiring producer. Jay is currently working on his own substantial catelogue of original material whilst working on a number of different projects such as the forthcoming album from fantastic up an coming vocalist Jason Beharie (www.myspace.com/beharie). Jay is is also heavily involved in a new and exciting project with The Heartless Crew(www.myspace/heartlesscrew) as the musical director of their forthcoming live showcase tour, this is a testament to his unique versatility and his ability to switch seamlessly between different genres of music.
