About Me

Cocophone sound like the laid-back excitement of a vagabond trying to escape the smothering suburbs, combining a fluency of chilled-out lonely acoustic and lively communal melodies. The major social experiance for this band to date was a headlining show in Whelan’s last January and a follow-up sold out Saturday night headlining performance in Whelan’s recently in April. The growing reception on the Dublin scene since, indicates a growing taste for this original sound. Cocophone continue the practise of melodic innovation mostly by recording, gigging and yoga. Since September 2007, their own writing and recording sessions have resulted in a demo of 4 songs - each wrapped up in its own story and experience of the group. For the Summer, Cocophone shall be retreating into a hideaway and burning midnight oil by the korg machine; experimenting with pedals, percussions, harmonies and prescription medicine with plans of releasing a savagely musical EP ..... Cocophone have been popularly dubbed as ’Simon & Garfunkel’s afternoon children’ and in a recent newspaper review, were said to be ’two soft voices, blended in perfection’...
