Memphis Pencils

About Me

booking: Thomas - [email protected]

"...refreshing as hell...now see the makings of a new scene re-growing in the basements and living rooms of house-shows. Bands like the Memphis Pencils are proof that the Fayetteville music scene is alive and well."

"These kids gave a performance that was filled with endearing charms and sweet melodies. Their first EP, Crayon Jewels was hand painted and drawn and given to me to listen to. It’s quite lovely, I think you’ll agree." -E.J. (loudersoft.com)

"Whimsically intellectual.... The fellas could have formed a parade supply company... [but] instead became a psychedelic pop band." -Jennifer Chancellor (Tulsa World)

"...they are pretty down to earth fellas as far as I know."

-Zach Holland, The Good Fear

"The Memphis Pencils are actually from Fayetteville... funny." -Joe Pestilence (goner-records.com)

Sounds Like: He dreamed that he was going into an empty house with white walls and that he was upset by the burden of being the first human being to enter it. In the dreams he remembered that he had dreamed the same thing the night before and on many nights over the past years and he know that the image would be erased from his memory when he awakened because that recurrent dream had the quality of not being remembered except within the dream itself.
