About Me

She was singing before she could properly walk or fall over even. With some proper distinguished punk rock family heritage (Cara’s father is Martin Cowan and her uncle Greg Cowan, both from 70s punk outfit The Outcasts), there was never any doubt that young Cowan would one day be up on the stage. Equally influenced by the ultimate Dolly Parton or modern day electro-pop-folk queens like Lykie Li and Fiest, Cara joins that lineage of 'glamous popus maximus'.
Barely out of her teens, Cara is already on her way to be Northern Ireland's first ever proper lead female. She has cut her teeth (and such lovely teeth they are) playing the Belfast circuit, both solo and lending her sparkle to an assortment of bands and NI music veterans.
Having copied up her homework a long time ago, Cara is now kicking out on her own with a schhhhweet backing band and is prepared to come and educate you in the ways of the '21st Century Nu-Age Diva'... Beyonche, auld Marah, Madge, Walnut Whitney...... get tee ****.... Magnum Farce is here to BLOW... YOU AWAY!
An artist with true character, captivating creativty and enough imagnation to run for years and years. This is just the beginning. Will McConnell, Bandwidth

Cara may be a much younger talent than Rodriguez, who's already been recording for years, but she still shows huge promise. Despite hailing from Belfast, there's not much that's Northern Irish about her polished music, which seems to have come straight out of Nashville. On stage, Cowan's country-style vocals were near perfect and her sound completely complemented the bluesy tunes Rodriguez sang later on. Her great backing band was another big plus.
