About Me

I was born in Melbourne, Australia back in the late 70's. I grew up listening to all different styles of music. From 80's classics, to Metallica and Nirvana. At high school, I played drums for a few years and loved it. I even gave singing a go but was no good. Had a band with a few mates (Macca and Lazza) called the Circus Monkeys which I was the front man for. Sadly we only played one gig, maybe it was my singing. When I was near the end of my schooling, I was influenced by dance music. I was listening to all different types of artist like Da Hool, ATGOC, Armand Van Helden, Nalin and Kane, Josh Wink, JX, Dj Quiksilver, to name a few. It wasn't till I went to my first underage club that I realized that I wanted to be a dj. The whole concept of a night club and playing to a crowd just made the hairs on my neck stand up.After I first went to underage Juice, I started buying every song I liked to start my music collection. I started djing at friends parties on their home stereo and I loved it. After a few parties I was given the chance to dj with a small mobile dj company called "Spin Doctor" which is where I first meet Scotty B (Owner of Spin Doctors). I worked for them for 2 years doing any function I was thrown. At the same time I was working for "SD" I was practicing my dj skills at least 2 hours a day. With only one deck and an old mk1 denon 2000. But I loved it.In 1999 I meet Jason Taylor from Powerhouse Entertainment. He offered me a gig at a small nightclub in Mornington, Victoria. I accepted on the spot and that weekend I was playing at my first nightclub called Millennium. There I worked along side Andy Van. Which for me was huge. I was a big fan of Andy's and still am today so it was great to be working alongside the great man as well as working in my first club.Once I broke into the night club scene, I was hooked. Wanting more gigs and they came. About 6 months after starting at Millennium, I started working at the Wheelers Hill Hotel where I am still currently working every Thursday night (And will till I die). It’s my home away from home and I love the place.Other venues that I have worked at over the years are Tatou, Metro, Billboards, Two Floors Up, 21st Century, Bubble, Blitz, The Hallam Hotel, Odean to name a few. One of my other favorite venues (And I’m sad to see it’s gone) was the good old "Spy Lounge" on king street. I was the resident dj in the main room there for over 3 and a half years. That was the time of my life, I don’t think I’ve ever drunk as much alcohol as I drunk there. It was party time every shift. A endless drink card is so underrated. In 2006 I co-won the Future Entertainment Two Tribes competition getting the chance to play a set at my favorite event for the year. This was the highlight of my career considering I had been to the previous 5 two tribes events. Getting to have my name on the same bill as such greats as Armin Van Burren and Steve Angello was a really high.Over the years I have been influenced by many different artist and Dj's. The ones that stand out the most are bands and artist like Metallica, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Ice Cube, Naughty By Nature, The Offspring (Back in their early days). Dj's that I could listen to any day of the year are guys like Sander Kleinenberg, Timo Mass, Lucian Forte, Jeff Mills, Fergie, Nick Warren, Anthony Papa, Will E Tel, Andy Van, John Coarse, Lee Davies, Michael T, Scotty B. All of these guys have changed my life in some way and made me into the dj I am today.Other people in my life that have helped me and kept me motivated in this tough world of music and djing are my parents, my sister, who has had a massive influence over my music tastes since I was a baby. The boys, Macca for introducing to Progressive House and partying with me every time. Josh, Luke, Danny, Joel, Lazza for always been there for me. Scotty J for been a top bloke, rock on brother! The styles of music I currently play today are Prog house, electro house, vocal house (not much these days tho) and old school R & B. I have also been know to do a retro set but its been years. My favorite song of all time is “When I fall in love” by Sybil (Klub Family). I absolutely love it!Future plans I have are, to get my songs I’m producing with Lee Davies played in clubs around the world.
