Most people may recognize this face from the popular daytime television show, All My Children. Jacob Young has been protraying ruthless JR Chandler since he joined the show in late 2003. But there is a lot more to this daytime bad boy than most may know. Jacob had a very humble upbringing far away from the glittering lights of the New York City area. He was on the opposite coast growing up in the states of Washington and Oregon. His hard work since very young has paid off well. He's had to learn hard lessons of the worth of a dollar. He paid his own way, by working at Dennys, through private school and graduated a year early. In that time he additionally moved from up the west coast down into sunny southern California to live with his mother, since his parents had divorced when he was younger. At that time his mother encouraged him to pursue his dreams of acting. Soon enough Jacob found himself auditioning for a role on the CBS soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. Happy news came for Jacob in 1997, for he won the role of Rick Forrester. He stayed with his role of Rick until 1999 when he left The Bold and Beautiful to join the cast of ABC soap opera, General Hospital in 2000. Jacob had big shoes to fill, coming in as the new Lucky Spencer, previously protrayed by Jonathan Jackson. But he was winner in fans eyes, and the new Lucky was a success. Jacob is not only a talented actor but he is also a talented singer/songwriter as well. During his time on General Hospital he released his very first self titled album. People Magazine named Jacob "Sexiest Soap Star in 2001. In 2002 Jacob recieved the honor of winning outstanding younger actor in a daytime drama for his fantastic protrayal of Lucky on General Hospital. Additionally Jacob took his hand at not just television but also film. In 2003 Jacob landed the role of Hunter in the teen comedy movie, The Girl Next Door. Also,in 2003 Jacob decided to take on a new adventure. He finished his days with General Hosital, but did not leave ABC all together. He journeyed out to the east coast to join the cast of All My Children to play JR Chandler. His choice in doing this was not just to get a taste of the big apple, and a new daytime show, but he also wanted dip his toes into the waters of Broadway. Eventually Jacob's hard work and many auditions paid off in landing him a role in Disney's Beauty and the Beast in 2006 playing the singing, charming, candlestick, Lumiere. After play Lumiere, Jacob certainly believes his time on broadway is no where near finished. And continues to play JR Chandler on ABC's All My Children today. You can catch him on ABC at 1p.m. eastern standard time/12p.m. central, or on SoapNet.Jacob married Christen Stewart on May 13, 2007. They welcomed their first born on November 25, 2008. His name is Luke Wayne Young.
