I'm interested in becoming an international anti-socialite
I'd like to meet Japhy Grant (see video below). I'm madly in love with him and I want to fill him with my babies. If you know him tell him he needs to take on the challenge of making an honest man out of me, but we'll have to wait to move in together until after he leaves LA. I just saw a picture of him wearing glasses and I think I need to go out and buy a fresh pair of H&M chonies.I seem to seek out people who make me laugh. Geeks, freaks, and intelligence draw me near...
Bjork, Radiohead, the Bee Gee's, Beck, Pre Y2K Madonna, Sublime, Harry Connick Jr., Portishead, PJ Harvey, Sade, Annie Lennox, EBTG, Sarah Vaughan, Pizzacato 5, NIN, Funkstorung, Air, Prince, Tori Amos, and other random shit strange friends from far lands have put on CD's for me... I also enjoy the music of people I know personally who are in groups called Beatropolis, Matmos, Cotton Candy, Disaster Kid, Kool Skool, Mister Rogers... for dancing at a club or bar, I like Drum 'N Bass, House, Hip-Hop, Latin (Salsa, Samba, and such) and I avoid anything that is too Top 40's or Circuit... and my roommates Jessica and Matt are my inspiration to keep playing the piano (I recently memorized a piece by Grieg) and incorporating more music in my life... I also think that guy from Maroon Five needs a piece of me even though most of his music sucks.
As with music, way too fucking many to list, but I'll summarize: John Waters films, almost anything with Parker Posey in it, Silence of the Lambs, Nightmare on Elm Street Series, Tokyo Decadence, Waking Life, Memento, Rivers and Tides, Dancer in the Dark, films directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Freeway with Reese Witherspoon (it's the only reason I can forgive her for marrying the love of my life), Pedro Almodovar films, Stefan Ruzowitzky films (Benno Fürmann is fucking HOT), Strangers With Candy (I own all 3 seasons and I got to say, "hello" and, "I'll see you in Wigfield tonight!!" to Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello on the corner of Haight and Ashbury while a woman with a huge bush across the street from us was walking around wearing nothing but a bra and tennis shoes)... and lots, lots more... generally anything nerdy, dorky, sick and twisted, or foreign I like..... okay, fine, I love Beaches, Steel Magnolias, 9 to 5, The Women, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Aunti Mame (with Rosalind Russell), and just about any other gay-ass movie too...
When I have the remote: Comedy Central, History Channel, CNN (I hate Lou Dobbs), Bravo, Discovery Channel..... I generally hate having the remote, so I just end up watching the stoner TV my friends tend to put on... and I do occasionally get stuck watching reality TV, but I swear to gawd it makes me feel dirty.
Same as with Movies and Music, I'll give a brief summary of the kinds of things I've read... I'm always open to recommendations for new books though... Oscar Wilde, a lot of Stephen King (primarily the Dark Tower Series), The Dance of Life: The Other Dimension of Time, Vanishing Voices, Elegant Universe, Einstein's Dreams, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, Foundation and I Robot (I was HORRIFIED to see it remade as an action hero film), David Sedaris (He signed my copy of Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim and wrote Faggot on the second page, when I actually wanted him to dedicate the book to Dirty Faggot. He also misspelled my name... oh well)--UPDATE-- I got to meet David Sedaris at a reading he did on Haight street. This time I got him to cross out Yanka and spell my name correctly. He also wrote the word DIRTY in front of FAGGOT, so now my book is complete :-D
Anyone who's said no to Mary Frey. Hey, you just saved yourself from any number of STD's she might have passed on to you. Good for you!
