About Me

LUKE HAS BEEN A SONGWRITER AND PERFORMING ARTIST SINCE THE 80's. AFTER BEING GUITARIST IN NUMEROUS BANDS, HE BECAME ASSISTANT RECORDING ENGINEER IN SHEFFIELD'S 'BOB MARLEY STUDIOS'. IT WAS THERE THAT THE 'LONGPIGS' CUT THEIR FIRST DEMOS. AFTER BEING ROADIE FOR A FEW GIGS, LUKE THEN WENT TO LIVE IN SCOTLAND. IN 1991, HE ATTAINED A RECORD DEAL AND HIS FIRST SINGLE, 'A DIFFERENT SONG' CHARTED IN MANCHESTER'S 'MIX-MAG'. THE SECOND RELEASE, 'ENTWINED DIMENSIONS', GAINED LUKE A PRIME-TIME PLAY ON RADIO 1's 'STEVE WRIGHT SHOW'. IN 1993, LUKE AND DRUMMER DEAN BUSH, FORMED ONE OF THE FIRST AND BIGGEST 'U2 TRIBUTE' BANDS'. THROUGH LUKE'S MUSICAL PROWESS AND DEAN'S BUSINESS SKILLS, THE BAND ATTAINED CONSTANT WORK, INCLUDING LIVE T.V. SHOWS AND RADIO SESSIONS. IN 1995, THE BAND GOT TO PLAY SHEFFIELD'S 'ARENA' AND 'DON VALLEY STADIUM'. THE FOLLOWING YEAR, DEAN AND LUKE HIRED A NEW SINGER AND ALTHOUGH THE BAND TOURED EUROPE AND IRELAND, THE NEW SINGER PROVED TO BE UNPROFESSIONAL. USING WAYNE TAYLOR AS NEW SINGER, THE BAND PLAYED FURTHER DATES IN EUROPE (INCLUDING FEYENOORD STADIUM WITH U2) AFTER REACHING THE PINNACLE OF A TRIBUTE BAND'S RANGE, LUKE LEFT IN 1999 TO PERSUE A DIFFERENT CAREER. IN 2001, LUKE HAD BRIEF STAYS IN IRELAND AND NEW YORK AND CONTINUED TO PERFORM ORIGINAL MATERIAL IN LOCAL VENUES. IN 2003, LUKE TOURED WITH ORIGINAL BAND, 'KING NINE' AND MET LOCAL PERFORMING ARTIST, KAREN MULCAHEY. AFTER TRAINING WITH S/F S.A.S. LUKE BECAME QUALIFIED SURVIVAL INSTRUCTOR AND WENT ON TO SECURITY/B.G. WORK IN BELFAST, LONDON AND IRAQ, LUKE BECAME KAREN'S FULL TIME GUITARIST AND RECORDING PRODUCER. IN 2005, KAREN AND LUKE WROTE AND PERFORMED MUSIC FOR TWO MOVIES. FOR 2007, LUKE GIGGED AND RECORDED AND THEN SET UP HIS OWN BUSINESS, TEACHING SURVIVAL SKILLS. ALWAYS RECORDING AND WRITING, LUKE HOPES TO RECORD AN ALBUM OVER THE NEXT YEAR AND TOUR THE STATES... type="text/css" body {background-color: 000000;}
