Bills Bar, Boston MA w/ic Narcotic and MDCsome newzself destruct was started sometime after the anger and the truth was recorded by the unseen. basicly as a side project. at first scott and i learned a few cover songs and recorded them with local punker bill damon of t.n. in his basement. the songs wer violence in our minds (oppressed) decapitated (broken bones) dead cities (exploited) me on drums and vocals, scotty on bass and guitar.after this we got good buddy and marks former band mate mike from global threat to play drums. we needed a bass player decided on pete also of a.g.t.from here we started slammin out tunes in scotts basement same place where the unseen and some other local bands practiced. a few months later we recorded a demo on bryan of a.g.t.s 8 track. the tunes wer rough but the idea was on tape. the demo is all the songs that ended up on the e.p. but different versions the only track not recorded again later was a misfits rip off intro we dubbed "gates of mongo" why you ask because we called pete mongo?i started booking self destruct some gigs if memory is correct we played conn, a show at c.b.g.b.s that i have on video, holidays in the sun in new jersey and a few local gigs with out pete. in all we did about 6 gigs maybe?oh yah so the e.p. i got us a deal with punkcore based on the fact that he knew he could sell 1000 7 inches based on the fact that the band was half global threat half unseen. i dont even think he liked the band haha but what ever a deal is a deal. we got a few bucks and hit the outpost studio in stoughton ma. we recorded a e.p. "violent affair" and it was tossed out on punk core i think in 2002. 1000 pressed a few hundred on pink and grey wax.after the e.p. pete moved to ca and we needed a bassist we had a dude named tom play one gig, our good freind phil valentine played bass for a gig and i think rufio played with us once or twice.after the e.p. we stoped doing shit due to pete moving and the unseen and a.g.t. touring so much.we wrote 2 more songs after the e.p. was recorded they exist on casset from 2 live shows "holidays in the sun" and our c.b.g.b.s gig take your life and govermental breakdown are the songs maybe ill toss em up sometime.
