+ ABATIS: SOLARBOOGIE FUNK CLASSICS: It started out as a group of guys way down south in a small hot town called Lake Charles,LA. In 1998 we formed a band called Wigwam. Wigwam consisted of: Chad Allison-drums, Eric Gruber-guitar, Mikie Holland-drums-Tim Hall-Bass, Marcus Newman-vocals. After a few gigs Mike Holland moved to Colorado. We needed a lead guitar player so Jeff Mallett steped in! In late 1999 Wigwam fell apart and everyone went on with there lives. It wasn't until early 2004 that they got back to together and started jamming again. This time with a different lineup. The band's new name became ABATIS. ABATIS consisted of: Chad Allison-Drums, Jeff Mallett-Guitar, Marcus Newman-Vocals, Mike Talbot-Bass and Mike Mallett-Guitar. Though we only played together for about two years, it was a learning experience. Chad Allison moved to Flordia to be with his son and Mike Mallett didn't have the time due to school. Several months trying to piece together a solid structure Jeff and I ran into an old friend by the name of Rory Williamson back in Dec. 2006. He was in a band called Community Service and they were looking for gigs. Community Service did one show with us and a few here and there but, broke up shortly after that. I called Rory to see when they were playing again and he told me he wasn't playing with anyone, so I scooped him up and their drummer, Trey. We have been playing together now for two years, with nonstop shows in 07 & 08 and are in a process of writing new songs as we speak.
