About Me
East Alley Records (RIP) was more than just a record store. It was a gathering place for individuals who were free thinkers. It was more than a place to pick up your favorite music, whether it was industrial, brit-pop, indie rock or mainstream. It was a place where people openly shared ideas and discussed their philosophies (and drank beer). We didn't always agree with each other, but we respected each other (and drank beer together). If only our own little "High Fidelity" could have been a microcosm of the world in which we live. A world where people were free to discuss their beliefs without being persecuted (a world where everyone drank beer). I honestly think that during its 4 years of existance, East Alley Records enriched the lives of the people that shopped there (and corrupted a few as well). There was laughter. There were tears. There were lots of hugs and high fives. There were lots of inside jokes(and a little bit of beer...especially when KMFDM stopped by and didn't drink any of the beer that I had bought them. Those pansies wanted Starbucks instead). Lasting friendships were formed. It's a time of my life that I will never forget. I want to thank each and every person that ever walked through those doors. East Alley may be gone, but the memories will live forever inside of all of us. (Let me know if any of you want to get together for a beer!)Cheers,
Bill Paskins
