About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorPinnacle Magazine is a fanzine style magazine about art, music, culture and whatever we want to write about. We'll report on local, national and international level. The name is not based on the software company or something, but the Pinnacle Skatepark. The one thing in Weert that didn't suck monkeyballs, until it was destroyed by the city council. The crew is made up of 3 core members. Ralph Lindsen, the founder/main editor/video dude/interviewer/etc., Benjamin Bach, the website man/editor and Hessel Folkertsma, the photographer/interview filmer. Around the core are a few people who help us out often. Falco Minken films sometimes, especially interviews, Wendy Senssen aka VallendeSter used to be one of our photographers, Dennis Hurkmans writes and is sometimes a backup cameraman, and random bystanders have helped us too.The birth of the mag is the product of frustration. Frustration about the place the founders live (weert, the Netherlands), and the music scene over there (loads of metallica and iron maiden coverbands, and loads of cliche wannabe bands aiming to be something what's already there, no originality, and so on...) which in our opinion is a (although a bit extreme) representative of the music in the world today. We want an underground revolution, music needs it! and it about fucking time something exciting happens! We also have a website, thanks to benjamin at www.pinnaclemagazine.TV where you'll find reviews, video's and moreAmong the bands we featured are Shellac, Blood Red Shoes, Medications, Mudhoney, Mission of Burma etc.Talking bout burma. Roger supplied the artwork for the cover of the first paper issue. There's a big feature about mission of burma in this issue with reviews of the Obliterati, and the This Is Not A Photograph DVD!We also have a video channel on Vimeo, www.vimeo.com/pinnaclemagazine . The video's on this page are from that site. Make sure to take a look. Especially with the new HD cam we use now. Vimeo has HD quality. The Underground in High Definition...If anyone wants us to review their album, send us a message and we'll arrange something. no cliche music though. As i said, we've been to the Parisian festival Villette Sonique on the 7th of june where we interviewed Steve Albini and Mission of Burma. And that's not all, we also filmed the whole show of Bottomless Pit and Mission of Burma! Check it out at www.vimeo.com/pinnaclemagazineStay tuned...
