About Me
I'm originally from the south, but I have been living in New York for a few years now. I'm an artist and a designer, the sort of guy who can spend a day in a museum or an old building just looking at the mouldings and the details on the door frames. The sort of guy who finds the broken tiles and dirty brick in a subway station somehow beautiful. New York itself thrills me, there is something everyday that makes me smile. I can hold my own in a conversation about just about anything, and I have no problem sharing an opinion. I still have the fire that being raised in the south instills in you, and yes, I have most of my accent. In recent years I have been reclaiming a lot of my southern heritage, the stuff that I started denying when I was a teenager (you saw that coming right?). I've rediscovered country music (the classic stuff, not the modern country/pop hybrid) and the outdoors. At the same time I've abandoned a lot of the other things that growing up in the south layers onto you, most notably religion. After being baptized into 7 different churches as a kid, and then doing a great deal of exploration on my own I've decided that atheism is definitely the right call for me.In the infinite world of dichotomy I prefer night over day, autumn over spring, dogs over cats, pie over cake, dark chocolate over milk.I keep a blog over at Child Of Atom . Besides my daily life I keep my sketchbooks and sketches made on the subways of NYC there, come check it out!
