Adverse

About Me

First off, much love to everyone who came out to the San Francisco show. Honestly. Smoke them if you've got them I believe is the young people's phrase! Oh, I'm a codgery old devil are I not! I retired the evening of the Adverse show to a fine loft overlooking the Alameda skyline. Chaps, did you know that Alameda comes from the Spanish Alamo? Fascinating. But not nearly as interesting as sharing a beautiful view of the Oakland skyline and a cup of Sanka with rapper Adeem. That's right, Glue and Adverse really put on an effervescent show that made me want to "shake my stinking ass in there" as Redman once exclaimed. The Salt Lake Show was more spiritual. Of course, the Mormons are well known through the ages to be badgers of spirit at musical outings. I enjoyed Adverse's stage banter even up to the point where he singled out one gentleman and called him a bitch, which I found to be amusing if improper. There was a bit of a duel waged in the hall kitty-corner from the lavatory which I curiously eyeballed from the crown of my tom Collins. It was merely two or three young gutter-snipes trouncing one another. But the cowboy looking bouncer, a tall drink of water, jerry-wrenched the alpha-male and dolly-carted him from the dancefloor. All's well that ends well! Oh, yes, please forgive me: The paypal store is open for business. We would like to thank everybody who has ordered the album. I myself have transferred the masters to my RCA crown velvet phonographic plates, which I view in the white room with a technicolor projection unit soothing my peepers after a long day on the trading floor. I hope you find your preferred method of enjoying such a dope ass record. There is an article about Adverse in the Salt Lake City Weekly, here is the link if you wish to read it. Adverse in The City WeeklyI read nothing myself, keeps the brain nimble. That is all. Florence? Bring me a dash of white out and a sniffer of brandy....

Band Members: You've got your rappers and you've got your Rappers, the type of rhymer with a grip on their language and energy that can take you on a journey over the beat.Verse is one of these. And one who, incidentally, can make his own beats. This time around, as executive producer of his first solo, he gives us a look at some freaky-ass styles set up and shot down with the fun of a merry-go-round in a shooting gallery.
Influences: Ellipsis communicates an atmosphere and dimension with music that run-of-the-mill hip hop utterly lacks.Proficient with a wide range of instruments and a variety of recording techniques, he makes sampling unnecessary and adds a depth and physicality to everything he writes. Ellipsis brings out the harder, sleeker side of the sonic spectrum and plays off the intensity that lurks beneath Adverse's playful style.
Sounds Like: Not like ass. That's one thing I'll say. And not like that down syndrome fellow with that drum machine and the fader. If you even knew half the sh*t I know about music you would understand that there is no way to describe the motion on this one. Let's go with that, o.k. Tom? That's what I sound like.
