Hi. I'm Alan and, to those in the area of West Los Angeles, I'm best known as the guy who puts on massive original Hallowe'en musicals each year for the Trick-or-Treaters and the neighbors. I've been haunting that house since 1975 and it's been a musical experience since 1990.
Over the years, with the musical help of great arranger/musicians such as Henry Lim, Tim and Tom Zehnder, Jeremy Johnson, Chet Misner, and others (since I play no instruments)and the acting and set building talents of dozens of my friends, I have formed the All Hallows Players and we have performed 15 original musical shows, eight of which are currently available in soundtrack form on my album "Hallowe'en Hysteria and Other All Hallows Frolics." The others, most of which are longer pieces, will be released over the next few years.
I belong to CalHaunts, a group of Southern California home haunters who gather to share our love of making our homes special for Hallowe'en night.
When not doing Hallowe'en shows, I am an independent filmmaker and songwriter. Recently I have been showing two Star Wars-related shorts, "Indoctrination" (which can now be viewed on this very page!)and "Man of Tatooine", at various science fiction conventions.
I also apparently bear an uncanny resemblence to Intergalactic Space Rocker, Thorax Red-Giant, the lead singer of Molten Voltage, who manage to stop in at Earth on their Intergalactic tours every year or two.
My wonderful wife, Susie, is making the world a better place, both politically and by helping the homeless so I try to assist her where I can.
I have no videos posted YET but if you'd like to see footage of me singing Hallowe'en Hysteria on the show, Dr. Morbius's Movie Mausoleum, then CLICKHERE . I felt a bit naked without my set and my cast backing me up but, except for my hacking cough at the end, I guess it went pretty well.
I've also just discovered that a friend of mine, David Moskowitz, has the video he shot of my 1999 show, The Eve of All Hallows, up on his MySpace site. It's a little shaky and it starts with two minutes of me rambling and trying to thin the crowd but if you'd like to take a look, here's the link: The Eve Of All Hallows .
Below are my first posted photos, mostly from older Hallowe'en shows and a large section of tribute photos to my recently departed dear friend, Chet Misner, but more are slowly getting added all the time.
