Our Juliana...
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same;
but as God calls us one by one,
The Chain will link again.
It still feels like it was yesterday...
There is no one in the world whose life was not changed, who did not benefit in some way from knowing her, whose day was not made even just a little bit brighter, a little bit better when she was a part of it. She had a smile and an air about her that was infectious, it made you want to know her, to laugh with her, to share in her joys and pains. She had so many goals, so many aspirations, she was at a point in her life where she was ready to take on the world, and if you knew her, you knew that she could and would succeed beautifully. I was lucky enough to know this remarkable woman and am a different, much stronger, much better person for it. There are so many things I thank her for, mostly for being her, as honest and down-to-earth and as compassionate as she was. I only regret not taking the time to tell her how much her friendship meant to me and will always mean to me, I only hope that she knew all along...
