Born in 1989, James attended primary and secondary schools like any normal Singaporean kid. Knowing that he could strum a few void-deck chords, Eric Lee, his former form teacher, gave him opportunities to play guitar in school. When he took up electric guitar lessons at around the age of 16, Guitar teacher Justin Chia introduced him Steve Vai, and things have been great ever since.
Currently studying in Singapore Polytechnic as a music student in Diploma in Music and Audio Technology, he is also the lead guitarist of 'Indus Gendi' and 'You And Whose Army?' and 'Mad Hatter' and 'The Groovy People' and 'issa'.
'Mad Hatter' has gotten 3rd in the Yamaha Asian Beats 07'.
