O'Laka Strong, the self titled album, .... Be Strong .... is a testament to young adult relationships and issues they face from a teenagers point of view.The Alabama vocalist/songwriters music evokes commitment, the struggles of being a teenager, friendships, love lost, love found, in such a manner that meets approval from listeners who run the gamut from hopeless romantics to thugs with a heart. O'Laka's first single, Get With U, is a hot new Pop record that proves to be a wise choice for her foray as an new vocalist.O'Laka, Born and raised in Northern Alabama, will soon redefined R&B/ Pop music with her debut album. Reflecting back on her younger years O'Laka states, I grew up listening to Mary Mary, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keyz and many more power house singers who have paved the way for me, and I utilized my musical influences on this album. I am going to continue to work hard to grow as an artist and to make music that people will love not only today but 20 years down the road as well, O"laka says.At age 6, she grew up singing in a baptist church, where her musical director influnced her to share her sound with the world. Lead vocalist in her church choir and chorus groups, O'Laka always stood out to be a leader. Still Managing high school, Volunteer Work, Church funcutions and other activities, O'Laka knows the hard work it takes to be successful. Being from a small town in Alabama, she hopes to set the ground work for other small town artist who don't get recongized or seen. O'Laka's motto " DON'T GIVE UP", her dream was to do music and thats what she's doing. Never give up, believe in yourself and stay humble.Now working on her highly anticipated album, appropriately titled, "BE STRONG" which is set to be released early 2007, O'Laka Strong is definitely the one to watch out for.
