Heroes:

Heroes...it's a very loose term. I would like to simply note here people that I look up to and/or have been a major influence on my life: === Sonic the Hedgehog - Ever since I was little, this guy has been my idol. I always wanted to go fast, to be the fastest runner there was. I remember when I got a pair of shoes that had Sonic on them... I was convinced that they made me run faster. I still have a little keychain of Sonic that I've had since I was in kindergarden. I realize that Sonic is just a video game character. You do not have to tell me this. But his outlook on life, his beliefs and his values are things I can now appreciate as an adult.=== Son Goku - Another fictional character that has inspired me. Goku is a powerful warrior who obtains power beyond anyone else in the universe. Yet he always keeps the beliefs he has had since he was a child. He is slightly naive, but he has a strong sense of duty and honor that I have come to admire. Goku would gladly give his life to save something as insignificant as a kitten. Even when villians are right in his face, he always tries to resolve an issue without violence. I can't begin to describe how much he has influenced the way I view things.=== Michael Eugene Primakow - Before I met Mike, I was a loser. A geek who wore lame clothes and didn't talk to anyone. I was the kid who blushed and got flustered when called on in class. Then I became friends with Mike and he changed me for the bettter. I became a metal head in a matter of weeks. My self-esteem and self-confidence soared. I can't even begin to express my gratitude for what he did. All people change, though. Mike was not the person I thought he was anymore and what he did is something that has caused me to lose all trust in him. I loved him like a brother and he threw it all in my face. The world is a cruel place. You either give up or keep moving. I stop for no one.=== Duane Schroeder - This is the older brother I never had. The older brother you look up to; idolize, even. Duane was another key person in changing my personality into what it is today. He hates the world. He doesn't hate it in an emo way...he just simply hates it. He once told me, "I hate everything, man. It's just that there are some people I hate less than others. Kind of get it now?" Duane opened my eyes to the world and removed the veil that society had thrown over my head. Ignorance is not bliss...and I'm very thankful for all Duane has done for me.=== David Schallert - My best friend. No contest. I love this kid like he was my brother. Mike pulled me away and I was foolish enough to consider Mike a brother. Mike was a brother...but more along the lines of the mean older brother who took your allowance. David is the brother that's there for you when you need him. David is the most caring person I know, even if he tries to act tough to hide it. There is no one in the world I trust more. I love you, Dave, I really do. Thanks for always being there.=== Kyle Corter - While not very influential and not quite a hero, this is a guy that can make me laugh whenever I'm feeling down. I don't know how he does it... sometimes I feel like he's on a different plane of existance. It's unbelievable the things he does. This is a guy who still holds to "the old ways" for lack of a proper word. He understands honor and realizes that today's society has none. He despises people like Duane and I, but like me (and unlike Duane) he also sees that there is good in people. It's just that the majority of them refuse to acknowledge it. ======= This is really only a short list... I could go on and on but I'll stop here.
