About Me

...I started early playing music in 1961...at age 6. I think it was destiny to be a piano/organ/ keyboardist. At one point, at the start of the British invasion,..I started playing guitar, but decided to stay with and devote my life to keys. I love all music,..but Jazz is my mistress. ...I've played in numerous bands of all styles for 4 decades as a sideman, also playing with big bands, and doing session, and solo work. ....During the 1970's I played/lived on the road, a grueling but rewarding experience. I met a vast array of talented musicians, and a few celebreties. I've learned much, and yet feel I haven't scratched the surface. In the early/mid 1970's I played Hammond, Fender Rhodes, and Synthesizers, for The Royal Knights of Soul, Blackwood, and Visions,..to name a few popular bands at the time in the northeast. Taking up Saxophone in 1971,..I had to unfortunately give that up, resulting from neck surgery, due to an auto accident a few years back. My main influences are Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Blues, Prog Rock and Gospel. I also have experience working as a Hammond organ tech, and worked in the 70's a church organist. ...I currently have a Jazz organ trio aka (Jazz the Ripper), and we are presently writing and playing original, as well as jazz covers. ....The trio features veteran players Bill Fischer on Saxophone. (Bill studied with the late great saxophonist Jackie McLean). Richard Hines, Drums/percussion, and myself on Hammond B3. ...Some originals from the CD titled Jazz the Ripper/End Kutz can be heard on my other Myspace site,..www.myspace.com/jazztharipper. ......I would like to thank my family and friends for their support and the musicians I have worked with over the years for their patience and innovation. Special appreciation for my late dad for the sacrifices he made for my lessons and instruments.
