I am here for Friends

About Me

pick me up love, lift me up, love, everyday...
i think this video is probably more "me" than anything else in the world ever. i know i'm lame, i know i'm cheesy, but if i could just hug everyone in the world all day every day i would be the happiest. i have so much love. sometimes i wonder why or where it came from. it hurts to have sometimes, but i sincerely hope that, when i die, everyone can say "she had so much love in her." i just want that light to shine.i do it for the joy it brings, because i am a joyful girl. because the world owes me nothing. and we owe each other the world.
(ani difranco)
i'm gypsy.
i am fully aware that i seem ridiculous in most conversations. i'm not jaded or sarcastic. i don't like to hurt people or see people hurting. i will never lie to you. i laugh a lot and i smile a lot and i love too much. and i am really, fully, completely real.
i go through phases where i eat the same food every day for, like, weeks or more. kind of like a 2 year old.

conversation hearts are my favorite candy ever. i want a conversation heart tattoo behind my ear. they're my favorite because they are cute AND taste like awesomeness. someone really amazing just left me over 200 boxes of them on my doorstep. that's what "love" looks like when you look it up in the dictionary.
my insides are copper, i'd kill to make them gold.....
(fall out boy)
i snort when i laugh too hard. i laugh too hard a lot.
i want to learn to dance.
i think cotton candy is pretty much the most magical thing on the planet.
and then Chicago ♥
and then glitter
and then snow.
i don't want to ever grow out of thinking things are magical.
and i'm not proud that nothing must seem easy about me....
(tegan and sara)
i stay up until 3 am pretty much every night
i'm kind of a big crybaby
i freak out a little (or a lot sometimes) when stuff doesn't go as planned.
sometimes i get lazy and don't call
i grow too attached
and i think that my life is so amazing because i have people in it that love me in spite of those things
we all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun.......
(john lennon)
my HEART will always live here:
there's a light on in chicago, and i know i should be home...
(fall out boy)
i love chicago. i love illinois. i love the midwest. :)
but i am afraid the rest of me will always live here:
i never really gave up on getting out of this 2 star town...
(the killers)i hate dallas. i hate texas. i hate the south. :(
when the world has taken everything you have to give i promise i will never say "i told you so"....

I'd like to meet:

i just realized how lame it was that Pete Wentz was in my "who i'd like to meet" section. that is obviously not true because i could have already met him a zillion times but i am scared i would just stand there and cry like a baby and not say anything meaningful. so... maybe if this section was called "who i'd like to meet if i was not a total spaz and afraid of crying when i met my hero" then i could honestly say pete wentz.
then...
there are the people i would like to meet and dance with:

justin timberlake

gabe saporta
and then there are people i would like to meet and also dance with, if by dancing you mean "make out":

TEGAN!!!!!

michael cera

katherine moennig

frank iero

Music:

"If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about."
-Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance)

music is the world to me. it is absolutely everything. i remember staying up all night watching MTV with my mom when i was a very small child. (MTV was born the same year as me!!) she took pride in my being able to name a band from the song playing the way some moms take pride in their kids playing soccer games or winning beauty pageants. listening to Journey always makes me think of my best mom memories. she gave me my undying love of the beatles. i remember renting the entire beatles anthology series with her and staying up all night for several nights in a row watching them. i remember listening to country music with my grandmother in the car. we would make popcorn and watch hee haw. any time i hear randy travis it puts me right back in that station wagon with the person i loved more than any other person in the history of my life. i remember nine inch nails in high school and realizing that there were people in the world that understood my pain. i remember counting crows for much the same reason and they got me through high school and insane depression and falling in love for the first and second times and getting my heart broken both times and stay with me even still today. i listen to the wallflowers and third eye blind and remember a time when i was the closest to my sister. we were the best of friends. those were some of the best times in my life. i hear stuff like the spice girls and think of michelle and how i NEVER would have survived high school without her. most of this stuff i rarely listen to anymore, but when i come across it it still chokes me up, it still makes me remember. thats why i think music is the greatest gift that God gave us.
and then, of course, theres the greatest band to ever happen to my life. :) and they make me feel everything possible in the spectrum of emotion. they literally saved my life. they got me out of bed and up to face life when i just wanted to give up. the words made me realize there was hope. the music made me realize there was still magic. they got me through the worse year of my life. they brought me and my 2 best friends closer together than any friends i have ever met. they bring so much joy and excitement and adventure to my life. my skin is permanently inked TWICE in honor of them :)
i love this band more than i love any band in the history of music!!!!!
the chemists who found the formula to make your heart swell and burst

♥ ♥ FALL OUT BOY!!!!! ♥ ♥"would you mind if i sat next to you and watched you smile? so many kids but i only see you, and i don't think you notice me..."

"we only want to sing you to sleep...in your bedroom speakers... we need umbrellas on the inside..."

"we're the lifers here till the bitter end, condemmed from the start. ashamed of the way the songs and the words own the beating of our hearts..."
obviously... there are other bands in the world to me. :) but to list everything that ever made my life a little more worth living would take forever.

Movies:

Moulin Rouge is the most beautiful movie i have ever seen!!!
this movie is to movies for me what fall out boy is to music!! thats saying a lot! any time i feel like crap, this movie is sure to at least partially remedy that.
i'm not a big movie person, but i do love anything that makes me cry or sigh or feel like a little kid again or believe in love.
some movies that go in those categories:
grindhouse!!!!!
garden state
juno
love actually

elizabethtown
Romeo and Juliet (the awesome music having Leo DiCaprio version)
♥ the notebook ♥

say anything
pretty much ANY movie with vampires, werewolves, monsters, or zombies. ESPECIALLY night of the living dead, the lost boys, 30 days of night, planet terror, creepshow, the nightmare on elm street movies, halloween, underworld, van helsing, blah blah blah...
