obviously music & drumming. otherwise disc golf, hiking, movies, mathematics, booze, recording and producing, Brady Bunch trivia, big-ass salted rim frozen margaritas, dreaming about Michelle Valles, hittin' local brew pubs while on road trips, preventing early morning phone calls from stay @ home ****s while we're on tour. Both disco & karaoke with really fun party girls (my fave). Oh, and that "business" i'm involved in: fighting chickens, pr0n, alligator purses & wallets, watermelons and illegal cigarette smoking pet monkeys. please don't tell the Chinese OR Dick Cheney!?!
Frank Zappa, J.S. Bach, Beethoven, M.C. Escher, Hansruedi Giger, Salvador Dali, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, W.A. Mozart, Sting, Stewart Copeland, Jonathan Mover, Neil Peart, Jeff Buckley, Anthony Bourdain and Phillip K., Preston & Child.
Music is my life!i pretty much listen to everything (minus rap & country, but Dwight Yoakum is OK) and can appreciate any good music. For me to *really* dig it, it's GOT to have a good melody. I tend to go through phases where i'm listening to a lot of one particular type of music (jazz, classical, prog rock, fusion etc.) I'm also a sucker for any recording with good players or a killer production.Honorable mentions: Zappa, Porcupine Tree, King's X, Dream Theater, Jean-Luc Ponty, Seal, Sevendust, Jeff Buckley, Spastic Ink, Miles Davis, The Police, William Orbit, Thelonius Monk, Skunk Anansie, Nick Drake, Beth Orton, Coltrane, Dixie Dregs, UK... rrr, just too many to list.
similarly...too many to list... but here's a brief sample: Cache, the Motorcycle Diaries, A Scanner Darkly, Donnie Darko, Blade Runner, Se7en, Ghost in the Shell, Old Boy, Animal House, Coming to America, Solaris (the Russian original - not that Clooney B.S.), The Usual Suspects, Reservoir Dogs, Baraka, Snakes on a Plane, Team America (fuck yeah) ;). Pretty much ANY Kubrick, Ridley Scott, Chan Wook Park or any other crazy asian flick, Almodovar, etc.
Nova (PBS), 60 Minutes, Simpsons, Futurama, Robot Chicken, the First 48, the History Channel, Amazing Grace (kinda), MXC and Lost!
Preston and Child , Michael Crichton, James Rollins, Dan Simmons, N. Peart, of course THE man, Phillip K. Dick AND (if you have the guts to venture there), horror writer Edward Lee.
