About Me
YES LORD!!! It's the highly anticipated debut album from Scoob The Deacon, righteously entitled "Covered By His Blood". If you have ever seen Scoob in action, then you can truly appreciate his ministry with a laid-back, cool style. Scoob brings the heat straight out of God's kitchen of holy hip-hop. His lyrical style of verbal intensity is simple and plain, yet at the same time, will rearrange your brain with God's Word. Does it really matter where he's from? I don't think so, but this South Bay holy hip-hop minister is definitely putting in work for Jesus. The smash-hit singles "I Don't Know How To Act", "Identify Your Enemy", and "Humble Yourself" are blazing the church scene and inspiring Christians to come out and say "YES LORD!!!"
Scoob The Deacon, born Marcel Green, was raised in Sunnyvale, California. He developed a love for music at an early age, but wasn't introduced to hip-hop until junior high school. His love for hip-hop inspired him to write his first rap during his senior year in high school. Soon after naming himself "Scoob", he linked up with two of his friends and formed his first rap group called "The Degenerates". What started off as a hobby was actually discovered as a God-given talent when Scoob decided to work on his first solo project "Underground Sickness". Upon finishing the album, Scoob went out to various open-mic shows to showcase his talent. During that same time, he became involved with drugs, alcohol, and fornication and his life took a downward spiral. Trials and tribulations grabbed a hold of his life and he eventually ended up doing some time in jail. This motivated him to pray and seek God every night. Then, one fateful summer evening after his release, Scoob attended a revival at Sureway Word of Faith Ministries and read the Bible for the first time. It was there where he walked up to the altar and gave his life to Jesus Christ and decided to stop rapping. Two years later, after studying the Word of God, the Lord spoke to his heart and inspired him to create the album "Covered By His Blood". After becoming a deacon at his church, Scoob changed his name to "Scoob The Deacon" and began pursuing gospel hip-hop full time by founding Gospel Game Entertainment. He is recently married, being a father to his son, and is promoting his new album.
Scoob takes this ministry very seriously. He has ministered at Sureway Word of Faith Ministries, San Jose Word of Faith, South Bay Community Church, Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Pilgrim Baptist Church, Walls of Faith and Famluv Ministries, Hillcrest Juvenile, Star of David Ministries, The Firehouse, and many other churches throughout the Bay Area. Scoob believes in being a doer of God's Word and not just a hearer only. You have to live what you preach or else nobody will take you seriously. As Christians, we must operate in a spirit of excellence. This is more than just music. This is the ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
