To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. It is beauty that captures your attention, but personality that captures your heart.Hell begins on the day when God grants us a clear vision of all that we might have achieved, of all the gifts which we have wasted, of all that we might have done which we did not do.We get each other. :)*I love Redding summer nights, the smell of fresh cut grass, tapped up soccer cleats, broken in flip flops, gardens, my grandpa, the sound of laughter, Jenny lo lo, Dukey's floppy ears and how he growls when he's dreaming.*I hate people who don't hold the door for you or when they take the elevator up or down a flight of stairs.*I love music, it stirs my soul.*I love my hands, they are precious to me, they remind me of my mothers.*I love art and museums and could spend hours lost in history.*I love John Wayne, Dean Martin, and Casablanca.*I love books, whether they make me laugh or cry or want to fall in love.*I love strong women and strong people who stand up for what they believe in even if it goes against my beliefs.*I hate hippocrates and liars.*I hate the way that Southern California changes people.*I love the BRB, walkie talkies, sushi and swimming in the creek with the dogs.*I love and hate that my grandma cheats at cards.*I love education and people who are passionate about educating others.*I prefer the smell of soap over cologne.*I love the crackle and pops of a record player and that my aunt and uncle still dance together in the living room after 25 years of marriage.*I hate cheaters.*I love men who can win the affection of small children and aren't afraid to laugh at themselves.*I love laughing at myself.*I love to sing and dance and play, and I know my heart won't be content unless it gets to travel the world.*I love getting A's on tests that you crammed and stressed over hours before.*I love working out again.*I think we should free Tibet and hang Osama.*I love Chai latte's and how coffee always tastes better out of a big mug.*I love to write.*I hate to write scientific papers.*I love that I can whisper to God when I feel most alone.*I love Darcy and Jake and how I can run to their house and escape the world.*I hate being hungover.*I love the smell of Coppertone spf 4 suntan lotion and chances are if I'm within 50 feet of a bottle I will have my nose stuck to it.*I love Tony and Jess and my new niece Gwenny Pooh.*I love my brother,I love the BRB, I love our troops, I love America, and I love my life. Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
I ♥ the BRB.
