Hi Folks! My name is Alex Wayt and I'm a singer/songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. I started writing songs from when I was around 16-17, but didn't start taking it seriously until people started telling me that they really liked my songs and that I should keep going at it. So, that was when I realised that I was actually good at something else (apart from drawing) and so quit playing the drums and focused on more of a solo career.I wrote and played at shows myself for a few years while trying to form a band together. I even tried joining other bands in the hope of maybe performing my own songs that way, but things never really worked out and I eventually took it as a sign that I should just do it all myself. But I realised how much I wanted to take this seriously and if I was gonna make any kind of imapct, I would need a band to inhance my sound live. So, no matter how much I got knocked down, I was determined to let the hunt go on until I found the write people. And I did. So far, through out my life as a musician, I have been lucky to play with some of the most amazing musicians and nicest people I've ever met and that includes, Alan Jones, Roddy Grey, Rob Wilkie, Lisa Evans, Shona Fraser, Ailsa Aiken, Meg and Kate from The Midden, Lizzy Wilson, Sam Gallager, Neil McDougle, Rosie Bans, Steve Scott and a few other folks. Also, some of the people that have sang along with me when busking or at open mic nights, lol!I've seen and done some amazing things so far, being a musician and music has done so much for me, that it is become a huge part of who I am. I can honestly say that music is my life and it is the one thing that I am truely in love with. So, who knows what lies in the future for me and my music. I guess I'll know when I get there. Thanks for reading,Enjoy!Alex ;)

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Alex Wayt - Lead Vocals and Guitar
-----------------------------------
Alan Jones - Lead Guitars
Roddy Gray - Drums
Steve Scott - Bass
Alex Sakulin - Keyboards
Influences: As much as I love my country, I have to say that the majority of music in the UK doesn't really inspire me at all. I've found that most of my influences come from America and some of them even from the 80's and 90's too. I'm a complete sucker for soundtracks. Especially from the 80's and early 90's movies, but here's a rough idea of my influences : Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, The Pretenders, The Replacements, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Bryan Adams, Marwood, Feeder (their early stuff), MyVitriol, Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan, Counting Crows, Tom Petty, Bruce Hornsby, Mike and The Micanics, New Radicals, Huey Lewis and The News, Gim Blossoms, Red House Painters, Hootie and The Blowfish, Roachford, Common Rotation, Ben Folds, Ben Folds Five, Mark Kozelek, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morisette, U2, KT Tunstall, Tracy Chapman, Ash, The La's, Nobou Uematsu, Utada Hikaru, Danny Elfman, Bon Jovi, Del Amitri, Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, Jimmy Eat World, Billy Idol, Frou Frou, Sheryl Crow, Haven, Idlewild (their mid early stuff), Supertramp, The Smashing Pumpkins, Travis, Texas, Sigar Ros, R.E.M, The Cure, Mark Cohn (just the one song), Jeff Buckley, Nancy Wilson, The Weepies, The Doves, David Grey, Vertical Horizon, Feul, Train, 13:Thirteen (e.t.c)
