About Me

The Great Harbor Rescue is a side project started by Bobby Nichols, it was started to not only show people that he is passionate about the more mellow music but also to stray away from the harder forms of music and discover a new sound for himself...with a great deal of symbolism and imagery Bobby shows that he is capable of writing lyrics that deal with real life situations and he also shows that he doesn't just stay limited to one subject....with songs ranging from dark and depressing lyrics about his friends' drug problems and flaws of his own such as struggles with alcohol, to worries about his family, to traveling songs and life in general...his influences are drawn from Bright Eyes, Iron & Wine, Brand New, and Bob Dylan...He makes sure to not stick to the same sound or try to sound like anyone else too closely. He mixes up songs so that way you don't get tired of what he is doing and/or lose interest...but the main thing that he wants more than credit or recognition, is that people respect what he is doing rather you can stand it or not. He believes in the kindness people should have and that is if you don't like what you hear, at least take time to try to get to know the person you are listening to or drop in a few pointers and/or constructive criticism rather than the bashing of a fellow musician who just wants folks to sing along to the melodies and laugh and drink together as one...So sit back and listen and try to see the goodness in what he is doing, and support other musicians even if you are in a band or not...because we all need to get along and live this life hand in hand...
