About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Steves Biography
-Steve Irwin, born in Victoria, has loved animals (especially reptiles) ever since he was a small boy. For his 6th birthday, his dad (Bob Irwin) gave him a Scrub Python that Steve named Fred. When Steve was eight years old his family moved to Queensland to start a reptile park. They started catching lizards, snakes, and crocodiles. Steve caught his first crocodile when he was nine years old. In April of 1973 they opened the Queensland reptile and Fauna park.
-In the 1980's Steve volunteered at the Queensland Governments rogue crocodile relocation program. He spent years in Northern Queensland catching crocodiles that were pests to the locals. He caught alot of crocodiles single-handedly. He even has a record of more successful crocodile captures that still stands Today!
-In 1991 Bob and Lyn Irwin retired and gave Steve the park. In 1991 Steve did a commercial for the park and that gave him the chance to show his animal skills to the public. Steve (with the help of John Stainton) made his first documentary called "The Crocodile Hunter" in 1992. The show quickly became a success and his show was seen all over the world! He made 10 shows over the next three years and to date he has made over 50 episodes of "Crocodile Hunter" and 52 episodes of "Croc Files".
-Steve and Terri have been filming the "Crocodile Hunter" series since 1992. They've filmed several episodes of "Crocodile Hunter" and 52 episodes of "Croc Files". After all of that there is still more, Terri gave birth to Bindi Sue Irwin on July 24th, 1998!
-In 1992 Steve married Terri Raines, an American women from Eugene, Oregon. Together they've operated a zoo and have made a hit tv show that's seen by 500 million people all over the world! Just as Steve was thinking that things couldn't get any better, Terri gave birth to Bindi Sue Irwin on the 24th of July, 1998. Personally I think Bindi is the luckiest person on earth!
