My last CD "Play A Little Prayer" has been quietly yet steadily racking up awards, fans, and friends.
A world music exploration of prayers both secular and sacred, the CD uses this theme as a basis for musical improvisation, some amazing ensemble vocal work and a production ethos on par with the big boys.
Here's a brief summary:
- May 1 2008- The Briss - Joshua Lebofsky is voted the Lennon Award for 2007 in the World Music category http://www.jlsc.com/winners/2007b/lennon_awards.php
- Feb 2008 - A glowing review in Italy's premiere jazz magazine ( Jazz Magazine volume no. 63)of Play A Little Prayer. see attached scan and .pdf. As well Cecils Psalm was included on the CD Sampler.
- Sept 2007- Grand Prize winner in Session 1 of The John Lennon Songwriting contest-The Briss.( ww.jlsc.com)
- Summer 2007- Airplay on CBC Radio Canada- in rotation on Jazz and World Music shows nationally.
- Summer 2007 - Spanish Internet radio station Pulse Of The Planet plays Cecils Psalm in rotation on their station
- A re-mix of Cecils Psalm is released on Cafe Melies Vol 4. 100,000 copies sold.I am presently in Hong Kong until July. After that, I will return to Canada to finish production on 2 new CD's.All tracks available on iTunes.

Getting my band happening.Playing new music from my last CD- PLAY A LITTLE PRAYER" and no I haven;t gone religious on ya...I just got into thinking how different cultures, peoples and religions used music in prayers and began researching ( a.k.a. listening to, transcribing) prayers both sacred and secular and then putting my own spin on things.
