anges, and performs a wide variety of music. While he leans on the edge of Rock, his Country music roots are more than evident in his performance and style. While learning to play guitar from his father, Russell was exposed to a multitude of musical styles and genres early in life. Through a wide variety of musical preferences in his family, he was introduced to Country standards, classic blues, Elvis, Waylon, Haggard, Simon and Garfunkle, Kiss, and many more. All of these sounds have come together in his music to allow him to share with the world a unique soulful, rockin’ twang.Russell began performing as a drummer in a band at the tender age of fourteen, and he continued to play the drums until he stood in as a front man for another band shortly after his family moved to Oklahoma. While Russell fell in love with being in direct contact with the crowd, he soon moved into a supervisory position that moved him away from music. While all true talents and professional dreams, the stage eventually pulled him to his true calling. He began to perform on the Opry circuit in Texas and Oklahoma. However, he quickly began to long for his own show, and he began to book shows as a solo acoustic singer song writer and performing in song writer showcases. Electronic media has broadened his audience, and his is now actively working on recording his first CD. While Russ’s future may be yet unknown, I can assure you that he will continue to write, record, and give high-energy performances as long as he has an audience.
Russell's audience is a diverse as His music,with people from all age groups and walks of life attending His shows. He is an aggressive entertainer who interacts with His crowd leaving them feeling connected to Him and His music as if they've known Him for Years. He is very much a musicians musician. Supporting of His fellow musicians and songwriters by spotlighting them in His open mic sessions and promoting them locally and on line. Russell is a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) and is currently in the process of becoming a regional work shop coordinator, Leading the Oklahoma City chapter of NSAI. He is also a member of OSCA (Oklahoma Songwriters & Composers Association). Step by step Russell Stover is on a mission to bring His music to the masses. He has set the bar very high for Himself, pushing to deliver the best music and performances to his crowd and trying to secure an exclusive publishing deal can be exhausting. Russ is up for the challenge and is swinging for the bleachers.
