Heather Cassell is a freelance journalist, researcher, public speaker, and publishing and book marketing coaching consultant for independent small presses and self-published authors.She is published in the Bay Area Reporter, ON Magazine, Just Out, Oakland, TheGlassHammer.com, HUES, BITCH, BUST, $pread and other magazines as well as "The Women's Movement Today: An Encyclopedia of Third-Wave Feminism." She was a research assistant for The F-Word: Feminism in Jeopardy: Women, Politics, and the Future and consulted on "Free Your Mind: The Book for Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Youth."Heather was the publicity assistant for Down There Press and the former office manager for the GLBT Studies Department of City College of San Francisco. Heather founded the only West Coast office of the Third Wave Direct Action Corps in San Francisco in 1995 and co-ran the organization until 1998.Heather received her BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and lives in San Francisco. Heather is a member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association.
