About Me

Saxophonist Chris Bullock strives to push the boundaries of musical categorization. On any given day, he can be found performing in many different genres that include jazz, hip-hop, and classical music. A product of the Carolina’s, Chris developed a desire to play music from early piano lessons and long-haired garage bands. He eventually settled on the saxophone and never looked back. His studies found him at schools such as the University of North Texas. There he performed with the One O’clock Lab Band.He has since established the beginnings of a fruitful professional career as a musician. He has had the opportunities to perform around North America and Europe. Currently Chris can be seen performing with Snarky Puppy. While in Texas, Chris performed with the Dallas hip-hop band The Gritz and the Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of drummer, Adonis Rose. Some of the artists he has had the opportunity to perform with include Jon Hendricks, Jason Marsalis, Bernard Wright, Robert “Sput” Searight, Jimmy Haslip, N’dambi, Emily King, and Jaguar Wright.Chris now resides in New York City, where he is immersing himself in the musical landscape of this melting pot of a city. Look to see what’s next on the horizon for saxophonist Chris Bullock, as he continues to explore new and challenging musical environments.
