Mark Uncle Band is based in Como, Italy est. 1994 - in what could be called the gateway to central and northern Europe.
Most of the band members are seasoned pros of the sound and light industry, the band tours with it’s own Hammond organ, and all members are capable of setting up and checking within professional standards.
We are more than happy to travel to northern Europe so do request a show to your local organizers )or organize a date yourself, why not?). Songs will be available for download on a separate website (due to Myspace’s understandable restrictions ..righted material) soon.
The band members are aged from the 20s to the 40s - we’re not "retirees" or "veteran rockers" - if anything we’re a kickass group that’s playing better and better as we all age musically together.
The repertoire tends to concentrate on the hidden gems of the discography of some of the most influential names in the history of american rock - Allmann Brothers, Gov’t Mule, Santana, Little Feat, Joan Armatrading, Jeff Beck, Mountain, The Doobie Brothers band, etc...
We are not making things easy on ourselves by touring with 2 drummers (!) and a Hammond organ, but we do believe that quality and results ask for committment, hard work and the proper all-or-nothing attitude (the proof will be found in whatever pudding you eat in your country...).
The aim of this project is to expose you to songs you may have overlooked and/or to entertain you with a different view of the rock / americana / latin-rock genre, avoiding stereotypes, "cloning", "tribute" impersonations in favour of a show of pure, unadulterated musicianship.
Thanks to this choice MUB have been the first band playing live during the broadcast event by RADIO CAPITAL called "Area Protetta in tour 2005" led by Sergio Mancinelli
