WHO IS “SWEAR BY THIS”?
A rock band. Hailing from Fort Collins, Colorado, Swear By This mixes blends of many different kinds of music into one big rockin’ entity. The members of SBT come from very different musical backgrounds, from jazz to southern rock to classical. SBT is able to boast years of classical training and TWINS!
Swear By This has had the opportunity to play at Coors Amphitheatre for Channel 93.3’s Big Gig over the summer of 2007. This enabled them to play with such greats as Social Distortion, Blue October, Motion City Soundtrack, Plain White T’s and more. While they are very proud of their debut EP, recorded at Coupe Studios, Swear By This thrives on the energy of live shows. Be sure to check out Swear By This in person!
Swear By This consists of:
Tyler “Calli” Callihan (guitar, vocals):
Born in Moorehead, KY, Tyler moved to Nashville, TN when he was eight years old. Though he says he’s “been trying to play guitar since before (he) can remember”, Tyler was most definitely influenced by the blues and southern rock of his formidable years in Nashville. Calli moved to Fort Collins in 2000 and met the Barraza twins Dec 29th, 2006 to form Swear By This.
Jarrod “J Rod” Barraza (guitar):
A Fort Collins native, Jarrod is the musical brainiac of the band. He has been classically trained in music theory and teaches guitar at the Academy of Guitar. But J Rod has not limited himself to picking six-strings. He is also accomplished at Mandolin, Banjo, Slide Guitar, and anything else with strings. If you aren’t impressed enough, Jarrod is also able to name the pitch of almost anything he hears, that’s right – he has Perfect Pitch!
Adam “Pookie” Barraza (drums):
Like his twin brother, Adam is, of course, a Fort Collinsian. Undoubtedly the driving force of Swear By This, Adam is an extremely versatile percussionist. After playing for eight years, and being trained in Jazz for 4, Adam is able to play every style of percussion known to man. From Afro-Cuban to Punk, Jazz to Metal and everything in between, Adam is like a warm blanket – he’s got you covered. (Main Influences: Buddy Rich and Travis Barker)
Andrew "Hickie" Hendrickson (bass guitar):
As the newest member to join Swear By This, Andrew brought a fresh breath into the band. He, like other members, has formal musical training and his talents extend to playing the upright bass.

STORY OF THE YEAR
Sounds Like: SWEAR BY THIS's first EP sounds like a Pop Rock explosion of youthful exuberance. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in three and a half days at Coupe Studios.

THE NEW STUFF- Swear By This has since matured musically while trying not to lose their fun catchiness. Their more recent songs are deeper with a more indie feel.
Record Label: Unsigned
