Born in 1972 in Mexico city among loads of people.
Plays recorder since she's eight.
Studies recorder in Mexico city, Montreal, Amsterdam and Vienna.
Has worked and performed with musicians, composers, artists, dancers... known and unknown, alive and dead, white and black, and played good and bad music in Mexico, Canada, Holland, Germany, Austria, England, Italy and the Czech Republic.
Currently she lives in Vienna, where she teaches, organizes the new music series in the Ruprechtskirche, works with theatre and dance. Urkuma:
alias Stefano De Santis, born in the south-east part of Italy.
The word Urkuma is specific to the FinisTerrae part of Italy and expresses a state of mind, that is possible to compare with the opposite to the Buddhist concept of nirvana. Urkuma did releases, performances and installations in Italy, Poland, USA, Austria, Swiss, Slovack Rep., Japan, and has collaborated with a wide range of musicians.
Live, Urkuma is used to play anything within his reach, including small electronic devices, clarinet, TrumpLoo, home-built instruments.
