THE STORY:
Going by the pseudonyms red jones and fehlfrequenz, johannes retschke, an 19-year old born in Erfurt rocks clubs with his miminal and tech-house sets. Since 2007, Johannes has been settling in Bonn, however, he continuously moves between Bonn and the music metropoles Cologne and Berlin.
Growing up in a music-fanatic household, Johannes was early on sourrounded by music, providing him with the inspiration for starting a career in DJing. Forced to listen to his older sisters favorite “radio fritzâ€, Johannes became a rebel and dissident and developed his own distinct style. He soon came across shows such as “dance under the blue moonâ€, live broadcasts from loveradio or the mayday-festival. Shortly before the millenium, electronic music exploded and Johannes' felt his time had come.
From that time on, he collected vinyls, arranged sets, and tried to get a grip of anything associated with DJing. He spent an increasing share of his spare time with music, excelling mixes of house and classic tracks including artists such as donna summer, diana ross, michael Jackson, mike mareen and eddy grant. Due to massive practical on the turntables, his finesse improved steadily. Along with practice, Johannes integrated new music styles as they emerged. Contemporary artists such as westbam, thomas bangalter, guy manuel, pedro winter, jesse rose format b and many berlin locals shaped his artistic profile. No longer relying on diana and donna, Johannes in late 2006 fought for his first bookings and some basic awareness among bookers and fellow DJs. On his weekly journeys to Berlin, he gathered new inspirations from his tours through Berlin's club avantgarde. Johannes also placed great emphasis on the integration of personal experiences away from the music. He contributed much energy and emotions and could no longer imagine life without his turntables and vinyls. Johannes grows stronger from set to set as more people recognize his distinct style and provide supportive but also critical feedback. Johannes remains open-minded for new influences and directions and always looks forward to interesting bookings and cooperations with fellow DJs.
