About Me

JAG... Initially began with James, Andrea and Gez (who all play in various other line ups) writing and recording some original music in January 2007, then after realising how much they complimented each other musically, progressed to a 5 piece band playing original material and various covers from artists such as Jamiroquai, Doobie brothers, Prince, Bryan Adams, Radiohead and many more..... JAG currently play as a trio or as a band..... JAG members background....Jim has been playing for 22 years in and around kent since the ripe age of 14, strongly influenced by the likes of Satriani and Stevie Ray Vaughn and cutting his teeth in blues bands with his father, then going on to form his own bands such as ’Skinny Bit’ - Rock + Blues duo, ’Lick This’ - band, ’The New Hot Ratz’ and many more and currently performing in ’Revolver Duo’ and ’Defrenchy Duo’. Jim has also appeared twice at Dock Rock with his old band ’Frisky Kipper’. Jim is a guitarist of extreme quality and talent, a left handed guitarist, he learnt to play a right handed guitar upside down, and has continued to play this way......Andrea started singing at a very young age and was well known for singing at school, regularly taking part in school performances. She later gained experience singing with various performers including her step dad’s Country and Western band ’Steve Scott and Rio’ and getting up monthly to sing with various musicians at the ’Hook and Hatchet’ in Hucking as a teenager, taking a regular slot while the band took a break!! Andrea comes from a very musical family, her dad performing and winning awards for his skills on the violin; playing the old Folk scene and also featuring in Bluegrass bands such as ’Orange Blossom Sounds’ and ’The Southern Ramblers’ . She is an accomplished performer in her own right & continues to perform as a soloist and with ’Defrenchy Duo’ . Andrea also plays with various other duos as well as having recently joined a ten piece 50’s and 60’s Rock and Roll cabaret band. Andrea has recorded songs and backing vocals for various artists and has a voice of immense power and quality.Gez is currently involved in various music projects consisting of Longspoon, JAG and various duos, he has a unique, gently yet powerful voice and has ‘Wowed’ many audiences with his performances. In his own words he says..."I started playing the guitar at the age of 13 and got into live music attending folk clubs. I moved from folk into rock and pop and with a few weird ‘n’ wonderful bands along the way. I was always encouraged by my family to pursue music interests, as they are a musical and enthusiastic bunch. My Grandmother was a concert violinist. My Mother was an opera singer, my dad played folk guitar. Alex my little brother plays guitar and sings and has been out gigging with me for a few years now. He has a myspace here where you can hear his material. Little sister Berenice sings on a few tracks there too. I’ve found it hard to settle into a music genre as I love all forms of good music. I hope you like the tunes on here. STUDIO WORK - Dana Gillespies Album. ‘In the garden of Heavenly Peace’ - Backing vocals. TV Smiths Album ‘Not a Bad Day’ - Backing Vocals. Jo jingles CDs - Lead and Backing Vocals. Radio Advert for The Times Newspaper Session - Guitar. Hermina Stafford ‘Life enhancing CD’ - Backing Vocals and Session Guitar. LIVE PERFORMANCES ‘Fleadh Festival’, ‘Finsbury Park 2000’ - Guitarist and Vocalist for Trisha Smith ‘Silverstone 2002 & 2003’ - Lead Guitarist and Vocalist for In a 5 piece Band ‘Brands Hatch 2002 & 2003’ - Lead Guitarist and Vocalist in a 5 piece band ‘Sound Garden’, ‘Comedy Club’, ‘Tunbridge Wells 2004/2005’, ‘Musical Stand’
